An Ode to Randomness
ok, let me start this post *again*...
today was a very fun day. sorry, that is an understatement.
i will admit it here, i was nervous about meeting some people. i always am about meeting some people for the first time, particulary when i have been talking to them for ages online.
i have noticed that generally, people are different to what i imagine them to be. whether they are better, or worse it doesnt really come into the picture, but i do know they are different. so im not even sure *why* i do it anymore, the whole imagine someone to be some way, becuase i will always discover them to be different.
with ana, bec, rei, tony, roh and katie all on the train on the ride in my anticipation and nerves were stilled.. atleast for a while. it was nice seeing those people again, the ones on the train :). if that even makes sense...
arriving at flinders street we walked out and saw the gush people. recognised most, and found out the names of all the rest. burkie came up behind me and made some noise. it was really good to see him again.
in fact, it was really good to see a few people again. trav, and john definatly...
after some standing around, waiting for people to come back, on the steps of flinders street we went over to crown. sillyness continued from then on.
played a game of laser wars (when we finally got there, got attacked by pens, and sorted through everything). i came 20th. i didnt really expect to get very high, but it was fun anyway.
after some sitting around and talking, while the others played another two games of laser wars, we all walked back to the station. i must admit john, you do walk rather fast. i had to do a bit of running to catch up...
bec asked on the train on the way home who we really enjoyed meeting/seeing.
i enjoyed seeing john, and trav and burkie again, definatly!
i really enjoyed meeting mark, rod, steve and prowdy.
there were others who i was glad to meet, and see, but didnt really get much time to talk with them at all. like the sale girls, or malcom, or jas, or bobbymac...
sitting in starbucks chatting and laughing with people. *smiles at the memory*
actually, for some of the people there, it felt like i had known them for a long time, and we were just catching up after not seeing for a while. it felt comfortable. it felt safe. im not sure how else to explain it than that...
definatly a really good time.
