a walk in the rain

wow... that was amazing!
i just went for a walk. yes, all by myself.
down the road opposite my house. then to the warburton trail. walked along that for ages. got to the bottom of my road which the warbi trail goes over. and i kept on walking. i stopped, and looked out across a paddock. there was a worn down old bomb there. grey. long grass surrounded it. i was half way to wandin.

how did i get there?
well, it all started with a conversation with burkie. something to do with eating... and then got onto exercise... and he got through my stubborn self, and so i went for a walk.
and i kept on walking. quickly at first, then i slowed down. some cycleists sped past me. one of them thanked me for moveing.
i thought i could make that some God time, but really, i didnt. i was just happy to be in his creation, and marvel at the wonder and beauty of it all. i did ask him about some thought of relationships, but he stilled my thoughts. "friends only" he said.
and so i didnt press it.
at the start i had two songs stuck in my head. with the wind tugging at me, blowing over me i had "be still and know that i am God, i am the Lord that leadeth thee, in thee o Lord i put my trust" playing over and over again.
i got down the bottom of my road. (almost 2 km's via the road. i dont know how many via the trail) and the wind had stopped. it was still there, but was above me. not reaching me
i turned around. i was hot, and sweaty, my hands were warm (i dont like having warm hands), my knee was hurting, and i needed to pee. so i trudged back along the path. i wasnt in a very happy state of mind. complaining.
then i realised how silly it was. i sat down on a seat. and just relaxed a bit more... i looked up. there were big black grey clouds coming in fast.
i knew it was going to rain before i got home.

so i started to walk again.
slowly the rain came in. little bits at first.
i looked up and dared the sky. i asked it what it was afraid of. then, as if some barrier had been breached, the rain came down. heavy. large drops, all around me. on me. i ran.
running in the rain, not trying to avoid the drops, but just enjoying the fact that i was free.
i basically ran the whole way home. stopping every now and then to catch my breath. the drops were soaking me. my hair was dripping, my socks were wet. i was getting happier and happier the more i was getting soaked.

and so home i came. drenched, but happy.

i would like to say i had some great revelation on that walk, but i didnt. i think i was content enough to relax and enjoy the vast array of things God created.
