Last night, and Urban Seed
umm... was laying in bed last night, after drawing some pretty random things in my journal, praying to God. i wasnt really getting anywhere.
and then the thought of a bible passage came to mind. Daniel 4:3. then Mark, 4:3, and lastly James 4:3.
i dont know if it was God, or me, so i went, why not, and opened up my trusty bible.
this is what i was sort of praying about, that God will help me... even if i dont think i need help.
"Right lord, im here. help me... say it like i mean it? i dont know if i do mean it... then how can you help..."
Daniel 4:3 says something along the lines of, "about how great Gods signs and power is"
Mark 4:3, "the sower sowed the seed.."
James, " its about asking and not recieving becuase asking is in the wrong motives."
think Gods trying to tell me something? if so, please share...
woke up early again... probably could have gone back to sleep, but my mind was already thinking... and then its hard for me to relax enough to sleep... just doze...
Urban Seed. run through Collins Street Baptist Church. collins street = the most prestegious and best real estate in the city. a real rich mans area...
the church has a tall front. doesnt look like the beautiful cathedrals of St Pauls, or St Pats, but is a nice white colour. lots of steps.
inside the smell reminds me of ginger, i dont know why. the carpet is this lovely blue green colour, matched with the dark wood, it is very rich looking.
a giant pipe organ is out the front. not really any stained glass picture. perhaps becuase its baptist, not catholic...
many stairs to reach the top. stubborn me climbs them. the roof is high off the street. they have decking on the grey cement. a bbq stands in the corner looking well used.
i go to the edge. the street is below me. i hear the trams before i see them.
but still not the highest thing. giant sky scrapers are on every side. but still, there is bright sunlight. i take off my jumper.
stubborn me goes down the stairs again, much to Lexies protests.
the ally way out the back. clean looking, at first inspection. wall art down the entrance way, lovely grafitti. i stand, giving Lexie a massage. bars on the ground level windows, thick, solid, oppressing bars. they are dirty.
a security camera... do i feel safe? not really... mainly safe becuase im with people i know and love and trust.
little shards of glass are in the gutter. why didnt i notice them on first glace?
noise echoes through the passage way, car horns. car exhaust fumes linger. i cannot see the sun. i put my jumper back on.
people are sitting. most people wouldnt.
leaving the allyway. crossing the little lane, which ever one it is. a middle ages man drives past, into a car park. a black, very shiney mercedes.
walking with Lexie. i tell her that there are so any things in the city that you dont see, lots of detail, music posters, grafitti, glass shards. do we even want to notice?
she wonders if the man in the merc even notices, and what does he feel if he sees someone shooting up. would he even see... would he even want to see.
enter another building, but my car load has to leave. expensive parking.
have to get money out. coles... theirs an atm in there.
see a man selling "the big issue". walk past him twice. come out of coles, buy one.
an i think i have problems.. they pale in comparison to other peoples.
was that whole exercise just to make us aware, to convict us, guilt us?
for me it was to give me the opportunity to see the city, really see it. the opulance on both sides of the coin...
will i do anything about it? what can i do...
