there is a lady three doors up called Norma. she is an elderly lady who owns two lovely little dogs, volunteers at the local op shop and doesn't drive. she is a charming lady and we got to know each other when we caught the bus at the same time last year. i was going to uni, she was going to chirnside to hang out with her friends.

we chat every now and then when we see each other, for a good 15 minutes or so. yesterday i had the privilege of sitting next to her on the bus ride home. i asked her about her family, her children and how long she's lived in mount Evelyn for.
her husband died at the start of last year, and i met her a couple months after it had happened. slowly she is getting back into her garden which always used to be her husbands domain.

i am unsure whether she is a christian or not, though i am fairly sure she knows i am (as we have spoken about where i go to church around easter time, etc).

i love living somewhere where i can get to know the people in my community.


in other news, my dad bought a digital camera on eBay and it arrived today. its a kodak, which kinda sucks, but its 7.1 megapixels, 10x optical zoom and really easy to use. and the best thing. it hasn't cost me anything. perhaps though, if i am the one who's going to use it all the time (and i will) i need to invest in some more batteries (rechargeable), a memory card and something to carry it in.
