Breath Into
the human heart, in all its strength and splendour, is still a terribly fragile and precious thing. such an amazing thing to behold. except when it is your own.
people in general are interesting things. curious, strange, intriguing. horribly cruel and harsh right along side glorious hope and love.
last night i finished reading Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell. such an excellent book. i am wondering what to say to somehow justify my reactions and responses to it. a couple of the things i read spun me around. gave me a new way of looking and understanding.
it took me a while to finish it, simply because i didn't sit down and read it. a couple of pages here, a chapter or two there.
i'm now onto his next book. Sex God. interesting title isn't it.
a few things have been playing in my mind over the past day or two.
"how you treat creation reflects how you feel about the Creator" (Sex God, 28).
and something that is both mentioned in Velvet Elvis and Sex God,
"It's possible for heaven to invade earth...
And it's possible for hell to invade earth." (Sex God, 22).
(Antiskeptic)
i've read both velvet elvis and sex god, both excellent, insightful books.
