authority...
last night i was thinking.
i had had a rather short conversation online wth someone who i think i dont get on very well with. which is kinda sad, as hes a good friend of one of my good friends.
and i told him that, and he went on to tell me why he thought that was.
and i got rather defensive during that time. i tried not to, but i could feel my buttons getting pushed, and my hackles raised, and i got grumpy.
i was laying in bed after that, and thinking about why that was.
i dont have a problem with this person at all, so thats not the reason.
and i think i know why it is.
its about people having authority, over me...
no, thats not the way to say it.
its about people having some authority to talk into my life (however corny that sounds).
like, when people tell me stuff, like about whats happening in my life, or how they think im acting, some people its ok for them to say that, and some people it really annoys me.
(something in my mind, very tentativly whispers post modern. something about post modernism. rejecting authority... but i cant quite pick it. )
is it a trust thing?
i dont know, becuase id like to say im a pretty trusting person.
but thinking about this person, in comparison with someone like bec, there is such a difference.
perhaps its becuase when i go to someone to ask about things im open to what they say, but when i get those (perhaps same) things told to me without my permission of asking, then i get defensive and reject them, and dont accept what they say.
just something i was thinking about... kept me awake for 10 or so minutes...
The first thing you do with post modern... is you take a box... and you fold it around post modern. Then you take away the post modern part and you just have the box. That is post modern.
Thanks for you comments Sam :). Sorry for not replying to your SMS the other day... I did smile. My phone credits getting low and I gotta watch my money at the moment. Yeah it kinda sucks not having msn and not chatting to people like you but its a good thing. Im going to the living end, kiss chasy and gyroscope concert up here in brisbane :D It will be great. I saw Gyroscope for the first time with The living end a few years back and now its happaning again. How cool is that.
I was wondering if you would mind if I used the same joke of that picture I drew for you... the one with the up and down saying: here is sams emotions... if you would mind if I used that on my site? But change sam to girls. If not thats more than fine. I did draw it for you and so its yours.
Anyway... hope things are well.

no one likes to be told what to do, some people have a way of making us feel like they are incharge or above us, sometime without realising it we give them power or value by believeing and acting on what they say, it falls on you to listen or pay attention to what people are speaking into your life, check there intentions, do they want to build you up or tear you down
