We're Nothing Without You

four weeks til my party.
i woke this morning and started planning things in my head.
im tired still.

last night at youth, in our small group, we talked about some ways to do devotions, but the conversation instead turned to a lot of other things. i was exhausted, and the girls were fairly sedate. Mel, the other girl who leads with me, led the evening and said some great stuff.

i think the thing that really hit me was i was talking about really doubting to hear Gods voice, and whether it was Him, or me, or if He would even want to talk to me. i was really struggleing with that at the beggining of last year.
and i shared when i really felt, and knew God had spoken to me, and it was only 3 words. "Am I enough?". it was regarding some friend issues i was having at the time, but i guess the same question still applies.

anyway, so i spoke a bit about doubt, and reassured the girls that God does want to speak to us, and He is speaking to us.
what struck me was when we prayed, my cousin prayed that she wouldnt doubt any more.

some how God speaks through us, through people.

in Kids klub, we had another lady from the church come and talk to us, who wasnt brought up in a christian home, and again she shared that it was through her friends, two different friends at two different times in her life, that she became a christian.

God works through people. but yet, we often dont see that until later in life.

maybe thats what it means to evangelise. not to preach at them, but to love them unconditionally, and not be afraid or ashamed of your faith but to not force them to believe.

the next youth group is the last one. december 1st. Andrew wants some more people to share testimonies. most of the leaders, all those in his cell, shared some testimonies at the camp that started youth for the year, in about july/august.
i think that we have a lot to, from our own lives, tell the younger ones. to encourage them and uplift them. to reassure them that other people struggle with the things they are struggleing with, and to give them ways to get through it.

it made me think about my testimony. what would i share if i got asked. what would be the most uplifting and encouraging thing to share.
perhaps my issue with fear.
perhaps my issue of looking for love in places other than God, and all that that included.

im not sure.

oh, and i drew a picture of Clammy last night during small group time. not on purpose, but he's wearing cargo pants. thus, its mark. :P
jas says its ridiculously cute. *chuckles*
