fridays that make me smile

yesterday was just one of those really brilliant days you can have that seem to come along every couple of weeks.

after i finished my essay ana took me to uni, and then we went out for lunch at the blue turtle. the blue turtle was my cafe in lilydale last semester, as i had a three hour break during the day between classes. one of the lovely things about the cafe is, not only are there art works all over the walls, and you have comfy pillows on the seats, and everything is purple, blue or green, but you can have crumpets... for lunch! and its not badly priced either.

after lunch-ness, ana and i wandered down to the tattoo parlour in lilydale. which happened to be right next to an antique store i never knew existed. now, i could look through those sorts of shops, and the cool old op shops too, for hours. to smell it all. and feel it all. the beautiful treasures that come from a long time ago. most of them are horribly over priced, but i adore the beauty of the old things.

we went and booked ana in to get a tattoo, for some time today, and then went back to the antique store.
half an hour or so later, i left with a lovely little box, which is made of cardboard and used to hold sewing machine accessories. it smells of old paper, and has faded gold lettering on top.

ana and i then went to her house so she could get changed, and somehow we ended up at eastland. we posted off some YITS info for a gush girl who is really thinking of doing it, but lives in adelaide and couldnt get to the open night herself. and then we found ourselves at general pants co. a shop i rarely go into as its generally so expensive. its just one of those shops i have an unfounded prejudice against. but i actually found (and bought) a lovely green singlet with a little lace on it. ana was looking for a top to buy to wear that night.

we then ended up in starbucks, talking about various things, me with my usual iced chai tea latte. then off we went to becs house.
loud music and lots of laughter on the car trip there, and i think ana's 50's porn star sunnies made an appearance. they are those large ones, and they are gold. very funny things :P

hung out at becs house for a little while. em was making cute cake things for her party today. laura had wet hair, and bec got the girlfriend grin after talking to geoff on the phone. its a grin you cant deny cause you know your doing it. its lovely :p.

then home i went, and dinner i ate. and, because everyone was going out for the evening i decided it was a perfect time for me to snuggle up on the couch and watch a movie. somehow, i really love having movie nights with myself. im not an introvert, but the time alone is nice sometimes. :)

so i watched nausicaa of the valley of the winds. its an early anime by hayao miyazaki. a beautiful movie, one of my favourites of his, with amazing undertones of looking after the world. *smiles* i really do love it.

yippy...tis all over :p
i have tryed to put photos up....but i am having your problems with the stuid thing....argggggggggg...must be contaigious :s

Blue turtle is a HUGE winner! And the only freshly squeezed orange juice where the straw stands up by itself until the glass is almost finished

wow, the blue turtle sounds great :D it reminds me of cino to go but also of the moon, another trendy cafe.

i like green.
yay for awesome cafes :D
